Treatment

Orthodontics + Invisalign

Nearly invisible aligners that gradually straighten your teeth — no wires, no brackets, and fully removable for everyday life.

Overview

The Modern Way to a Straighter Smile

Invisalign combines the words invisible and align. It is a slim, transparent plastic aligner that fits precisely over your teeth and gradually corrects their position — without the appearance of traditional metal braces. At Tandarts Leidseplein, we plan your treatment digitally so you can see your expected outcome before a single aligner is made.

How Invisalign Works | Tandarts Leidseplein

How Invisalign Works

Each set of custom-made aligners applies gentle, controlled pressure to move your teeth in small increments. You wear each aligner for roughly two weeks, then progress to the next in the series.

  • Custom-fitted — Made from 3D scans of your teeth for a precise, comfortable fit.
  • Removable — Take them out for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing.
  • Nearly invisible — Clear plastic that is virtually undetectable in everyday life.
  • Gradual movement — Each aligner moves teeth by fractions of a millimetre per step.

ClinCheck® Digital Planning

Before treatment begins, your dentist uses Align Technology's ClinCheck® software to map out every movement of every tooth. You review a 3D simulation of your smile transformation from start to finish.

Full 3D visualisation of your treatment from start to finish.
You approve the outcome before the first aligner is made.
Precise digital planning reduces guesswork and shortens treatment time.
What Invisalign Can Treat | Tandarts Leidseplein

What Invisalign Can Treat

Invisalign is effective for a wide range of alignment and spacing concerns in both teenagers and adults.

  • Crowded or overlapping teeth.
  • Gaps and spacing between teeth.
  • Overbite, underbite and crossbite.
  • Open bite.
  • Relapse after previous orthodontic treatment.

During and After Treatment

Most patients wear aligners 20-22 hours per day for the duration of the plan. Once treatment is complete, a retainer keeps your teeth in their new position.

Check-up appointments — Every 6-8 weeks to monitor progress and hand over new aligners.
Duration — Typically 6 to 18 months depending on complexity.
Retainers — Worn after treatment to preserve your results long-term.
Oral hygiene — Brush and rinse aligners daily; remove before eating or drinking anything other than water.
