Dentures & Prosthetics

Modern full and partial dentures, including implant-supported click dentures — for restored function, a natural appearance, and renewed confidence.

Overview

When Natural Teeth Cannot Be Saved

Losing multiple teeth affects how you eat, speak, and feel about yourself. Modern denture solutions have advanced significantly — today's prosthetics are lighter, more natural-looking, and far more stable than older designs. At Tandarts Leidseplein, we offer a full range of removable and implant-supported options tailored to your jaw, bite, and lifestyle.

Types of Dentures We Provide | Tandarts Leidseplein

Types of Dentures We Provide

Whether you need to replace a few teeth or a full arch, we have a solution that fits your clinical situation and budget.

  • Full dentures — Replace all teeth in the upper or lower arch. Sit on the gum and are held in place by suction and jaw shape.
  • Partial dentures — Replace one or more missing teeth while preserving healthy remaining teeth.
  • Implant-supported (click denture) — Anchored to 2-4 dental implants for superior stability. Cannot slip during eating or speaking.
  • Overdentures — Fit over remaining tooth roots or implants to improve retention and preserve bone.

Click Dentures — Implant-Supported Stability

A click denture snaps onto implants placed in the jaw, eliminating the instability that many patients experience with conventional lower dentures as the jaw bone changes over time.

  • 2-4 implants placed in the jaw to anchor the denture.
  • Snap attachments allow the denture to click firmly into place.
  • Removable for easy daily cleaning.
  • Reduces pressure on gums and improves bite force.
  • May be partially covered by Dutch basic health insurance — we clarify costs in advance.

Digital Fitting & Modern Materials

We use intraoral 3D scanning instead of traditional impressions for a more accurate fit, greater comfort, and faster turnaround.

High-precision digital scans replace messy impression materials.
Trial denture fitting before the final prosthetic is made.
Lighter, thinner modern acrylic materials for improved comfort.
Immediate dentures can be placed the same day as extractions.

Aftercare & Adjustment

New dentures take time to settle. We schedule follow-up appointments to ensure comfort and make any necessary adjustments.

First weeks — Minor sore spots are normal. We adjust the fit at follow-up appointments.
Daily cleaning — Brush with a soft denture brush and dedicated cleaner — not regular toothpaste.
Overnight storage — Keep dentures moist in water or cleaning solution to prevent warping.
Regular check-ups — The jaw bone changes over time. Periodic relines keep the fit accurate.
